Tina Kotek fired Oregon’s public defense leader amid an ongoing shortage of public defense attorneys in the state and announced new leadership on Thursday. Jessica Kampfe, who was named the executive director of the Oregon Public Defense Commission in October 2022, will be replaced by Ken Sanchagrin “effective immediately,” according to Kotek’s office.
