The paperclip provides some of the circuit’s most fun, intense short-track racing. We’re blessed with two dates a year at this iconic raceway. After Kyle Larson’s dominance at Homestead, we get to a track that could be a lot tougher for many guys through the field. So, without further delay, let’s get right into it. By Kaleb McChesney| Belly Up Sports Verified For the first time in a long time, the Straight Talk Wireless 400 from Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida will not be a playoff race. In this odd departure from tradition, this race runs early in the NASCAR season. Following a three-race stint out west. The hope is that this will give the track the necessary time to prepare for renovations to get a bid to host the NASCAR Cup Series championship again down the line. But for now, this race runs in late March.

Whether it’s a last-second restart setting up the win or just an impressive feat of dominance, this is one of my favorites in the series. We move up a notch from the mile-long track in Phoenix up to a 1.5 just outside of the Las Vegas strip. This car is built for tracks like these, and it should be a fun race even without the option tire.
