A new study published in Cell Reports Medicine studied the blood of active-duty soldiers and veterans deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan where they witnessed trauma. Their samples reveal molecules activated in inflammation, oxidative stress, metabolic dysregulation, and impaired formation of new blood vessels, according to a press release.
