Biography

I walked into my college newspaper to tame errant punctuation marks but got hooked on journalism by public-interest digging. I'm especially interested in the transparency and accountability of public servants and public money at the hyper-local level. I also have a soft spot for public health and consumer affairs. I'm currently the government reporter for The (Marion, Ind.) Chronicle-Tribune, a small daily where I cover county-level and county set-level government. I've also worked as freelancer copy editor, writer, and investigative reporter. My work has appeared in top-50 daily newspapers and on national news websites. My awards include a national prize from the Society of Professional Journalists' Mark of Excellence Awards. I have an interdisciplinary bachelor's from Florida Atlantic University, and my extracurricular activities include the outdoors and the serial comma.

Money Talks News

Saving money shouldn't be hard, and at Money Talks News we make it as easy as possible. We began with a simple goal that we still strive for today: to help average people reach financial freedom, and do it without making their eyes glaze over in the process. Money Talks News was founded by CEO Stacy Johnson in 1991 to create and distribute personal finance news to network-affiliated TV stations nationwide. Thirty years later, Stacy's still here and we're still providing personal finance news and advice. These days we also syndicate both print and video stories to the top news portals on the planet, including MSN, Yahoo, AOL and many others.
