Biography
My own story is interesting enough, but it's not worth your time. Interpersonal connections, however, mean everything to me. I understand people acutely and I value the narration of their respective stories. Subsequently, I understand the significance of language; establishing universal truths. Creating an opportunity to expand empathetic capacities for readers anywhere drives my purpose. I was 'lucky' enough to grow up in a country where there is severe need at every corner. Every bend. People have the capacity to turn a blind eye, wilful and unashamed. I can't do that. I want to tell the stories of so many people that simply don't have the luxury of scripting their vocalized truths. I have spent a fair share of my time in the literal one percent of the world. The percent that is a side effect, a casualty, of self-indulgence and excess. I mean to be a facilitator in giving a voice to the 'voiceless' throughout Subsaharan Africa. I have always been aware of the fact that your words do not belong to you. As such, I have a culmination of stories to tell, incredible and tragic ones alike, and they don't belong to me. I belong, in full, to them. Documenting the realities of those I meet, I intend to do every angle, every hardship, every luxury, each narrative -- regardless of its socioeconomic source -- justice.
