By Kathy Neff| Hometown Focus Verified It has been 50 years since Title IX was passed. It has been 40 years since “Moldie Oldies” was initiated. We can thank Beth Yapel for that. The “Oldies” were Region 7 coaches for girls’ sports. We have been considered pioneers in the early battles for gender equality as far back as the 1960s. We first met at Beth’s cabin and still meet annually to reminisce, laugh, and share great friendships. Through competition and support for each other, admiration and respect for each other has grown.
