Joint first place for the most positive influences on retailers’ businesses in 2024 were social media and staff. Last year, the top place was websites, but it seems with the slight shift to in-store sales, staff and their customer service and knowledge are growing in importance.

  • Home and garden sectors boost March retail sales

    By Katie Roberts-Mason| Housewares News Verified The latest BRC KPMG Retail Sales Monitor shows a 1.1% growth in total retail sales in March, against a 3.5% growth in March 2024. Food sales increased by 1.6% year-on-year, while non-food sales increased by 0.6% during the month, against a decline of 0.4% in March 2024. The figures were somewhat distorted by Easter falling in April this year and in March last year.
