Biography

My name is Kaylie McLaughlin, and I'm an editor and reporter for the Olathe Reporter. We're a small, hyperlocal digital news startup that published our first story on June 9, 2021. I graduated cum laude from Kansas State University in May 2021 with a BA in journalism with emphasises on French and International Studies. My bylines have appeared in the Wichita Eagle, the Kansas City Star and the Shawnee Mission Post. I was also the editor of my campus newspaper for almost two years, was named the 2020 Kansas Collegiate Journalist of the Year and have received awards for print and broadcast storytelling.
