RCMP received a report in June 2024 that a woman was sexually assaulted by a man – when she was a youth- at a home in 2007. The accused was an off-duty member of the Trenton Police Force at the time. Now with the New Glasgow Regional Police, he was initially arrested in January and released pending further investigation.

Crews responded to a business on Larry Uteck Boulevard in Bedford after a report of a noxious substance Tuesday at about 5 p.m.Several people had respiratory symptoms according to a post on the Halifax Professional Firefighters Facebook page. The substance dissipated, but the source was not confirmed. Then around 9 p.m. crews responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Marketway Lane in Timberlea.
