  • 'Sober DUI' bill requiring more transparency passes after FOX 17 News investigation

It requires the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to create a yearly report, accounting for the total number of "sober DUI" arrests in the state, and in which jurisdictions those arrests happen. That report can then be accessed by the public. Drivers, often with medical conditions or who are seniors, are arrested for DUI, only to be exonerated months later after their blood tests show no trace of alcohol or drugs.
