By Kerre McIvor Verified| New Zealand Herald Verified Kerre McIvor's association with the Herald began when she was 5. Photo / Rob TrathenAlthough I'm trying not to do any MCing this year, I couldn't turn down the opportunity to help the New Zealand Herald celebrate it's sesquicentennial birthday. I also relished the opportunity to use the word sesquicentennial - something I haven't been able to do since the nation celebrated this milestone birthday in 1990. The Herald and I go way back.
By Kerre McIvor Verified| New Zealand Herald Verified Years ago, when my child started secondary school, she wanted an Eminem CD. Twelve months earlier, we'd queued to see the premiere of the Spice Girls movie. In the space of a year she went from wanting to be a Spice Girl to listening to a man who sneered that he couldn't decide which Spice Girl he wanted to impregnate first. A big evolutionary leap, musically speaking. Still, things move quickly in adolescence. I think it was Marshall Mathers' first major release, recorded as Slim Shady.
