The PSPS event is scheduled to start between 5 and 7 a.m. on September 30 and run through 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1. PG&E said high winds in the forecast are raising the fire danger from the Sacramento Valley and surrounding foothills to elevated North Bay terrain, forcing it to turn off power to high-risk areas to help prevent a wildfire.
