Last Thursday, the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats announced in a promotion and video that the team will change its identity to the “Gold Diggers” for select games. The alternate uniforms were to honor Sacramento’s gold rush history. The video, which depicts women seeing the new uniform and their eyes turning into dollar signs, was not received well by many in the public.

After disappointing seasons in men’s basketball and football, the school hired new head coaches. Former Sacramento Kings legend Mike Bibby was recently hired as the next men’s basketball head coach. In December, the school hired Brennan Marion, a former offensive coordinator from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, after former head coach Andy Thompson resigned.
