By Kinnadi Walker| WAPT-TV (Jackson, MS) Verified The Rankin County EOC director, Brian Grantham, said Friday morning that two homeowners escaped a mobile home fire in Florence. The homeowners said they woke up to the sound of their smoke alarm going off and quickly got out of the house. They called first responders immediately. Star, Florence, and Monterey volunteer fire departments assisted in putting out the fire.The director said the mobile home could not be saved due to major damage behind the structure's center. No injuries were reported.
By Brooklyn Joyner, Kinnadi Walker| WAPT-TV (Jackson, MS) Verified Tuesday morning, Jackson firefighters responded to an apartment fire around 4 a.m. on Belvedere Drive. When crews arrived at the scene, two apartment buildings were on fire.AMR and several firetrucks were at the scene. It took almost 2 hours and 30 minutes to get the fire under control.We were told one firefighter was burned on the neck, and he was treated at the scene by AMR. This is the same apartment that caught on fire 3 weeks ago.
