Biography

Kirsty-Louise Card is an independent author, blogger and journalist based in the West Midlands. Kirsty is a passionate writer and has been from a young age. It was this drive that got her first novel at the age of 17, and her second by the time she was 19. Even with a full-time career and volunteer work, she maintains her passion for fiction. Eager to pursue a career in journalism, she moved from Sunderland to Birmingham to achieve an undergraduate degree Media and Communications: Journalism in July 2019, entering her first job as a Facebook Community Reporter for Birmingham Live, Reach PLC. She is passionate about telling community lead and data stories across a wide range of media, with an active and loyal social media following. Kirsty became part of the reproductive charity, Cysters.org in 2017 as their lead blogger after being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) herself. She widely promotes awareness of reproductive and mental health, an issue which is close to her heart. She has worked with the charity founder as part of the Youth Board and creating a transgender and non-binary inclusive brand. She has many awards to her name including being listed as one of Birmingham Live's 30 under 30 - an achievement she made at the age of 21 for her work as an Indie Author, volunteering with Cysters, running a student data news site in her final year of university. When her life isn't focused on her writing or vlogging, she enjoys reading, cross stitch, make-up and dabbles in Plus-SIze modelling.
