According to Pike County Board Attorney Neal Smith, a committee comprised of one board member, one principal, one classified employee, one parent and two teachers will be selected to aid in the search. After the job has been posted, Smith said, the committee will interview applicants and then recommend to the board the candidate they think is best suited for the job.

Force Auto Detail and Tint Shop has moved to 7165 North Mayo Trail, Pikeville from its original Coal Run location. According to Adam Smith, tinter at Force Auto Detail and Tint Shop, the move came about because the business outgrew the old building. “We went from what a lot of people refer to as a pop-up building … to a three bay garage,” said Smith.

According to Pike County Judge-Executive Ray Jones, the county has begun efforts to prepare for winter weather. “The road department has already been winterizing all the snow removal equipment,” said Jones. “And we have an ample supply of salt on hand.”In the instance that more salt is needed, Jones said, the county has an agreement with the state that allows us to buy salt directly from them.
