Tennessee native Kristin Luna got her feet wet in the travel industry by working in-house at several publishing companies in New York, including Newsweek, Time Inc. and Conde Nast, before transitioning to a freelance career. In the past 15 years, she has written more than a dozen guidebooks for Frommer's and feature articles for such magazines as Parade, Southern Living, AFAR, Travel + Leisure, Newsweek, Conde Nast Traveler and Real Simple. She also works regularly works with city and state tourism boards to tell their stories through words, photos and videos via the media production company, Odinn Media, and 13-year-old blog Camels & Chocolate she runs with her husband Scott.
