Biography
Kristina Sumfleth is a photographer and artist based in Brooklyn whose work reflects on identity, motherhood, and the impact of humans on the environment. Born and raised in Callicoon, New York, she worked as a photojournalist for The Sullivan County Democrat newspaper covering political and cultural events in the Delaware Valley region before becoming a work scholar at Aperture Foundation. She is a graduate of the Documentary and Visual Journalism program at the International Center of Photography, a recipient of a Director’s Fellowship. Currently, she manages the digital archive for Magnum photographer Susan Meiselas. She is available for assignment.
