Kristy has had an aspiration to write since the third grade. She earned a degree in Journalism in 2012, and during that time was the managing editor of The Youngtown Edition, an award-winning college newspaper. She began covering the Nashville Predators for the Hockey Writers in March of 2021, and received credentials to cover the New Jersey Devils during the 2021-22 campaign. Kristy contributes to The Hockey Writers Morning Skate newsletter and is a member of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

The former Bruins forward debuted at TD Garden against New Jersey on March 31, 2022, and scored his team's seventh goal in their 8-1 victory over the Devils.
