He and 38 of his colleagues are demanding Congress ban pharmacy benefit managers from owning or operating pharmacies. Pharmacy benefit managers are third-party administrators of prescription drug programs for health plans. According to the attorneys general, the largest of these groups operate their own pharmacies and are part of major health care conglomerates.
