After hearing multiple residents decry the project, the county board of supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday, April 8, to reject an appeal of the county planning commission approval of a tentative tract map for the gated community.

The sculpture, designed by Twentynine Palms artist Chuck Caplinger, was returned to its spot on the south side of Twentynine Palms Highway April 2, after undergoing extensive repairs. Those included repairing holes and re-coating the sculpture and its base.
