The Chester County Sheriff's Office and the Richburg Fire Department responded to the scene of the crash. As of 4 p.m., traffic at mile marker 55 was blocked in both directions on I-77. The Sheriff's Office said the bus was one of three filled with students who had attended a field trip in Charlotte earlier in the day day.
