  • After a three-year wait, Griffin Fire and Rescue finally has its new Engine 1

    By Larry Stanford Verified| The Griffin Daily News Verified GRIFFIN — Griffin Fire and Rescue proudly displayed its new fire engine outside One Griffin Center on E. Solomon Street before the Apr. 8 meeting of the City of Griffin Board of Commissioners. Arrival of the truck was delayed for almost a year due to supply issues. The new pumper/engine will replace Engine 1, which the city purchased in 2008 or 2009. The new truck will go into service at Station One on the north side of Griffin, with the old truck going into reserve.
