According to the last Global Cancer Statistics, lung cancer is the second cancer in terms of incidence but the first in terms of mortality worldwide [1]. Among all lung cancers, non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most abundant (~85%). The treatment options now available for patients with NSCLC include classical chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy [2–5].
