It's more than a brand new house. It's a brand new beginning. Staff Sergeant Justin Day was an Air Force combat controller, working with elite special operations teams. "They work in the war zone, and things happen sometimes," Crestview Mayor JD Whitten said. "Horrible things happened to Sergeant Day."He was severely injured in Afghanistan in 2018.

In addition to the main event, there's a "kids fun pull", face painting, and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit twin cities Pavilion and Crestview Manor.

  • Colorado State University predicts above-normal 2025 Atlantic hurricane season

The forecast is for 17 named storms -- nine becoming hurricanes, and four of those nine becoming major hurricanes. Phil Klotzbach is a senior research scientist and hurricane forecast expert at the university. He says there's a small bright spot in the predictions.
