Biography

Lauren Levato Coyne began covering crime and police beats six months after graduating from high school. Since then she has written for books, magazines, daily broadsheets, and newsletters. Her current focus is short-form and essay writing at the intersection of art, ecology, the anthropocene, and fairy tales. Levato Coyne earned her MFA in Painting from The Cranbrook Academy of Art. She holds two undergraduate degrees from Purdue University—one in Professional Writing, another in Women’s Studies and holds a third in Political Journalism from Georgetown University. Her artwork has been exhibited at The Cranbrook Art Museum, The Chicago Cultural Center, The International Museum of Surgical Science, Abend Gallery, Hashimoto Contemporary, Roq la Rue, Wasserman Projects, and many other locations nationally.
