Most people skip the Westfjords when they travel to Iceland. It’s not located on the Ring Road, and it’s way more isolated and far from the most popular destinations. I wouldn’t suggest venturing to the Westfjords if you’re only spending a short time in Iceland, like 3 days, 5 days or even a week.

Thankfully, it’s possible to see quite a bit of Iceland in less than a week, and I’m going to show you exactly how to do it. I suggest renting a vehicle to make the most of your time. It’s also best to visit during the late spring or summer months (May to the start of September).
