The 27-year-old racer, who is in his fourth full season in the Xfinity Series, is optimistic entering NASCAR’s return to Rockingham Speedway following a two-decade absence. Creed was third in single-lap speeds and second in Best 10 Consecutive Lap Average during Friday’s sole Xfinity Series practice for Saturday’s North Carolina Education Lottery 250.

Following a seven-year absence from NASCAR competition, the 45-year-old racer relished the opportunity to climb in a stock car. Kahne enjoyed a winter warmup during the Xfinity Series test in January. Against his fellow drivers on Saturday, he was 18th on the speed chart following 53 laps of practice.
