The Kentucky Capitol has remained in Frankfort since 1792. A Kentucky Capitol could have been built in Louisville if not for a failed vote in the state legislature in the 1890s. On June 15, 1893, state lawmakers voted 46-37 to keep the Capitol in Frankfort, rather than move it to Louisville.

On and off-ramps at Interstate 71 and Zorn Avenue are open to traffic Monday, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesperson Morgan Woodrum said. The westbound Interstate 64 off-ramp at Third Street and River Road, however, remained closed Monday afternoon and officials do not have an estimate on when it may reopen.
