Biography

I have worked in journalism for 38 years, 35 of them at the BBC. I was a reporter, presenter, producer, radio and TV editor, and senior leader. I ran four of the BBC’s TV regions, producing thousands of hours of radio, TV and online output, while at the same time managing 300 plus staff and freelances. I was Head of Journalism Production for the BBC’s Nations and Regions, and also Head of Editorial Standards for BBC News. I’m now a freelance media consultant specialising in editorial output. I also advise on media and business strategy, provide bespoke in-house training, create content, and offer facilitation and mediation services.
