The Science Writer

The Science Writer highlights the talents of students in the Johns Hopkins Science Writing Program, supported by the editorial skills of alumni. The focus is on work designed for a magazine format, including news, feature stories, opinion pieces, and essays. With a different theme for each issue, The Science Writer explores science-related topics and exciting discoveries. Our stories exemplify the journalistic integrity and craft used by science writers to engage audiences and inspire insights. The magazine's inaugural issue, published in Summer 2021, was written, edited, and designed by students. Beginning with the Fall 2021 issue, The Science Writer is edited and produced by an editorial board of alumni of the Johns Hopkins Science Writing Program, showcasing work by current students.
