Biography

I’m a salty bitch and recovering baby addict who writes about parenting, pregnancy and pop culture. Memoir, personal essay, and creative nonfiction are my specialties. I’ve been featured on Pregnant Chicken, Slackjaw Humor, and Frazzled Parents, with occasional guest posts for Nameberry. I have five sons--two of whom have made it to adulthood--and a daughter. But my favorite child is the sassiest: my Medium publication, Sweary Mommy.

My six kids (plus one foster daughter) had not been to “in-person” school for more than a year — and our house had nearly burned down in the CZU Lightning Complex fires. To put it mildly, I’d been stressed. My brain finally broke.

  • It Started With a Pissy Day at Work and Ended Russell Westbrook-Style

By Lindy Vogel|The Sweary MommyTHROWDOWNSAn All-Ages Tantrum TaleJoin Medium today to support human storytelling. I wasn’t always a stay-at-home mom. Three and a half children ago, I worked as an in-home caregiver for senior citizens — mostly with companionship. Due to the driving, it was a huge pain in the ass. But I didn’t have to wipe anybody’s, thank god. It was winter in Seattle, which meant ice storms. Inadvisably, I’d taken a gig downtown — all the way down near First Hill — caring for a woman with early-stage dementia.
