Biography

As Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Edible LA Magazine, I not only interview chefs on their childhood memories and write features for the magazine, but I brainstorm and implement brand partnerships to make Edible into the food hub of LA. I've also built up an extensive portfolio of travel journalism for our Editor Explorer column. Edible LA is a part of Edible Communities, a James Beard Award-winning network of over 90 local food publications, podcasts and media nation-wide. Additionally, I write fiction. My short stories have won prizes and appeared in numerous literary journals. The New Short Fiction Series, L.A.'s longest running spoken word series, has done an evening of my work. I also spent fifteen years in the movie biz, Emmy-nominated for exec producing a mini series that won nine Emmy Awards.

Besides procrastination, which we all experience, and failure to make it a financial priority, I think many people just don't know what to do. There are family dynamics that feel impossible to navigate. A common scenario involves the tension in a second marriage between the current spouse and children by a prior marriage. Whose interests should be primary?

  • Property Tax Relief After the Fires

By Lisa Alexander| The Santa Monica Star Verified As I write this article, the Palisades Fire is still raging. I am hearing from so many of our clients and friends who have lost their homes. We've seen pictures of the devastation, but many are still waiting to know if their home was burned or spared. I want to express my sorrow to all of the fire victims. In the aftermath, while people are sorting out insurance, living arrangements, replacing essentials, and trying to move forward, April 10 property tax payments are around the corner.
