I am a freelance writer, editor and published author based in Gary, IN. I currently write for Black Girl Nerds. My past bylines include Ourselves Black (digital), Hope for Women Magazine (digital), Kiwanis Magazine (print), Jolity (print), Port of Harlem (print), Post-Tribune of Northwest Indiana (newspaper), The Gary Crusader (newspaper). I have more than 20 years of experience as a journalist. I co-wrote a memoir, "Unflappable" (IBJ Publishing, 2008) which is about media specialist Carolyn E. Mosby. I co-wrote the novel, "The Panther's Club" with Alethea Pascascio-Gordon. I wrote and self-published two novels: "Dead Lies" (2014) and "Extra! Extra! Love! (2018).

Unbeknownst to what was going on 30 minutes ago on television and social media, my five-year-old great-nephew sang and played in my living room as my body was tense.
