Lisa Marks began her career as a journalist on the Southend Evening Echo at the age of 18. She freelanced for teen mags including Just Seventeen and BIG! before launching Now magazine in 1996 as showbiz editor. She went on to become a commissioning editor for the Daily Mirror and a reporter for Media Guardian before relocating to Los Angeles in 2007.
