Today, I spoke about different forms of severe weather and safety preparedness with 3rd graders at the Independent School in East Wichita. Many of these students had questions and concerns surrounding the April 29, 2022, tornado that hit Southeast Wichita and Andover. They wanted to know about the Enhanced Fujita scale and how tornadoes receive their names.
