Ms. Barrie is an award winning art critic & essayist from New Zealand based in Los Angeles. She has contributed to numerous art magazines, Newspaoers, Museum and Art Gallery Catalogs and University Press essay collections. She conducted live interviews with artists for Radio Bew Zealsnd’s Access Radio and created an archive of audio interviews with New Zealand women artists. . In LA she has taught aesthetic philosophy in graduate programs at Arts Center, Otis College of Art & Design. and writing at CAlState LA, university. She was awarded three writing grants from the New Zealand Queen Elizabeth Arts Council and featured in the New Zealand Encyclopedia. An archive of her writing is held in the New Zealand Library. She has an MA and First Class Honours degrees in philosophy & a double BA in literature & philosophy. She also did graduate study in Journalism.
