Biography

Liz Farrell is an investigative journalist, columnist and humor writer based in South Carolina’s Lowcountry. She was named “Best of the Best” columnists in the state by the South Carolina Press Association in 2018. In 2019, she received first place for an editorial or column written in support of Freedom of Information and Open Government Issues. Her six-part series “Monster Unknown,” about a 36-year-old cold case that was solved and prosecuted in Beaufort, S.C., was also recognized by the SCPA in 2019, “Work like this is a rarity … [Farrell’s] writing was as informative as it was gripping and the almost three years of following this story is only one part of the massive skill set she showed upon its completion.” Liz is co-host and executive writer of Murdaugh Murders Podcast and co-host of Cup of Justice podcast. She has appeared on NPR’s Morning Edition, BBC News, CNN, the My Favorite Murder podcast and On the Case with Paula Zahn.
