Liz Highleyman was named editor-in-chief of HIVandHepatitis.com in February 2011. She is medical writer and editor who has covered HIV and viral hepatitis for more than 15 years, since getting involved with AIDS advocacy as a member of ACT UP/Boston in the late 1980s. She has written for publications including Achieve (ACRIA), Aidsmap and HIV Treatment Update (NAM), GMHC Treatment Issues, HCV Advocate, POZ, Positively Aware, and The Well Project. She is a former editor of the Bulletin of Experimental Treatments for AIDS (BETA), published by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, and former health editor for Ask Jeeves (now Ask.com). She studied at Harvard School of Public Health and is a member of the Association of Health Care Journalists. She is president of Health Education Online, Inc., which acquired HIVandHepatitis.com in March 2011.
