According to the BC River Forecast Centre, flooding seems to be unlikely this year. “Because snowpack as a whole is very low in the region, that means is the snowpack driven flood hazard is reduced,” said Hydrologist Natasha Cowie. Levels in the region were about 60 per cent normal this winter, but how they’re melting tells a better story.
