Louise Loik's stories have been in print in Canada's largest newspapers including the Globe and Mail, in the Financial Times, Vancouver Sun, Vancouver Province, and the Toronto Sun. She's also worked as a contributing editor and features writer at The Breeze Magazine, and editor at The Bowen Island Undercurrent where she wrote up-to--the-minute articles, features, feature profiles, acted as the paper's photo journalist, did the research and the layouts, on time, every week. Loik writes corporate materials, ghost writes and is currently writing a series about rural-living leading-edge thinkers called Edge Dwellers, for The National Observer. Louise's passion is to write about the innovators who are having a positive impact on local and global communities. She also likes writing about the natural world and global destinations and cultures in a way that entertains, educates and helps spread good ideas. Louise has travelled from north of the Arctic Circle in Siberia to south of the Equator in Africa. She's explored jungles, deserts, mountains and seas. She has also contributed to local life by helping create an alternative education school that has recently won an award for innovation in education.
