Biography
Reporter for Cumbria Crack, the Cumberland and Westmorland Herald and the Keswick Reminder. I also work heavily on content strategy and social media marketing and planning with the digital editor. I have recently graduated from The University of Sheffield's MA in Journalism with distinction and an NCTJ including shorthand. The course is one of the top courses in the country for training journalists. Formerly acted as editor of Hollr, a news and entertainment platform for the Cumbrian youth. I transformed Hollr in over a year and a half into a news platform where I ran a team of 6 writers and newly graduated journalists before I had graduated myself. I ran every aspect of the platform from editing to social media to marketing, to story creation and video and podcast production. I have also freelanced for a variety of magazines across the world previous to becoming fully qualified. This includes Dog Days Magazine, often referred to as the roller skating equivalent of Thrasher, Things and Ink, an online tattoo magazine run by Cosmopolitan feature writer Alice Snape and a gaming website in the USA. I received the Reidler Foundation Scholarship for my diversity as a working class journalist and dedication to the subject. I was also awarded and offered the JDF scholarship based on this. Passionate about regional news.
