Gavon Newton, 43, of Joplin is in custody on counts of 4th degree domestic assault, assault on law enforcement, and armed criminal action for allegedly charging law enforcement with a knife early Sunday morning. Deputies responded to a call about a “domestic in progress” at 19724 County Road 70 in Jasper.
