Gleichzeitig haben Klima und Umwelt unmittelbare Auswirkungen auf die menschliche Gesundheit, auch auf Menschen mit Diabetes. Daher ist es in mehrfacher Hinsicht wichtig, dass sich Fachgesellschaften wie die Deutsche Diabetes Gesellschaft (DDG) mit Fragen des Umweltschutzes und der Nachhaltigkeit im Bereich der Diabetologie beschäftigen.

  • Continuous glucose monitoring in older adults with diabetes: Data from the diabetes prospective follow‐up (DPV) registry

CGM use has increased in older adults aged ≥60 years. Age is a predictor for CGM use in older adults. Age-related physical barriers and insufficient usability of devices, lack of interest in technologies, but possibly also effects of prejudice on the grounds of age may contribute to this finding.
