From the first time I learned how to hold a pencil, I have loved to write. Starting with the alphabet, my horizons only continued to broaden. I believe "writing too often" is impossible, no matter what the writing calluses on my hand would say. I am a full-time journalist in the small town of Norwalk, Ohio. I also have experience writing for a magazine. I have written many short stories and poetry over the years, although I have not shared those with the world yet. For Norwalk Ohio News, I cover government, sports, business and miscellaneous topics, but my focus is on education and positive happenings in the community. I also record news broadcast videos daily and write a weekly column. Thank you for taking my work into consideration. I truly appreciate the opportunity to share what I love to do. This annual dinner had a “good turn out,” according to Jochen Hardwick, a Marine Corps veteran and current commander of American Legion Post 41. Hardwick said when he comes to the fair, he loves the fair food and seeing all the kids’ smiling faces. He added he loves to honor the veterans.

Contestant Martha Smith did not hesitate to answer it is her husband, Leo. “He is the spark in my life,” Smith said. She was later announced as The 2019 Huron County Senior Fair Queen, which she said was “wonderful.”“She’s a good wife and a good talker,” Smith’s husband said. The couple have been married for 63 years. Leo Smith comes to visit his wife at Norwalk Memorial Home twice a day.

During intermission, a pie auction took place, followed by an introduction of visiting fair royalty from various surrounding fairs and festivals. The 2018 Junior Fair Queen Kaitlynn Olak talked to the audience about her time a queen and her court shared memories and thank you’s from the previous year. The contest then resumed.
