Biography

I’m currently writing for the Minneapolis Star Tribune, where I cover K-12 schools in Minneapolis. I previously worked on a team covering the Twin Cities suburbs. Before coming to Minnesota, I spent two years at the Omaha World-Herald. I'm a 2016 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Journalism and Mass Communications. In college, I held internships at the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and the Lincoln Journal Star. Through the Global Eyewitness program at UNL, chasing stories has also taken me to Sherpa communities in Nepal, dusty villages in Ecuador and homes stilted above the turquoise waters off the coast of Nicaragua.

"We're supporting the school district and helping to bridge the gap of funding," Crystal Nutt explained to a woman eyeing the bowl of Twizzlers. The group of women, who call themselves "Cardinals Rising" after the school district mascot, was collecting donations in hopes of preventing cuts in the Annandale public schools.
