Biography

I was born in Detroit, adopted during the "baby scoop" era when my original birth certificate was sealed — a legal action which gives me a personal perspective on public access to government records. "Why?" quickly followed by "How?" are my favorite questions. I'm the author of the true crime books, When Evil Came to Good Hart, Isadore's Secret and Wicked Takes the Witness Stand, a New York Times bestseller. I'm under contract with Abrams Books for a new work on illegal adoption mills of the 1930s. I studied journalism at Michigan State University, received a master's degree in nonfiction from Queens University of Charlotte and am a columnist and occasional freelancer for the Traverse City Record-Eagle.

By Mardi Link Verified| Traverse City Record-Eagle Verified It’s Oscar season so let’s consider amnesia, shall we?
