The group has two proposals: Initiative #13 has approved its petition and can officially work on gathering signatures. The signatures to start the qualification process are due on Aug. 27. That initiative says the wolf reintroduction program will end on Dec. 31, 2026.

This project has been decades in the making. However, representatives of the Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes of Oklahoma say they were not included in the discussions and did not even know about the resolution approved on Monday.
