Biography

Marissa De La Cerda is a freelance journalist and media critic based in Chicago, Illinois. As a freelance writer, she writes about art, books, culture, film and social justice in Chicago and beyond. Some of her work can be found in the Chicago Reader, 14 East Magazine, and WTTW. She served as an associate editor for 14 East Magazine where she helped launch their bilingual section, Pueblo, which specializes in highlighting the journalistic and creative voices in the Latinx community. She received her BA in Journalism and Media/Cinema Studies and is currently completing her MA in Communication and Media.
