The Cleveland Soccer Group has secured a team in WPSL Pro, a second-tier league that’s set to launch next year, the league announced April 16. The announcement comes months after the Cleveland Soccer Group had sought a team for Cleveland in the National Women’s Soccer League, but it lost out to Denver. Cleveland will reportedly be one of the founding teams in WPSL Pro.

  • Kirtland’s Joey Torok returns to John Carroll as assistant football coach

The Kirtland graduate has been in his position as an assistant coach since February but on April 15 the news was made official by the University. Torok — who helped lead the Hornets to state championships in 2015 and 2018 — was a standout running back in high school before he was converted to a wide receiver at JCU.
